This is beautiful parkland of twenty-five hectares created by Charles Edward Haviland, an American who opened a porcelain factory at Limoges in 1842 to make tableware for the American market. Around the chateau in the grounds there are over 130 different types of trees. The animals you will see are from the five continents of the world and the park takes an active interest in breeding programmes especially in species threatened by extinction. The park is open from April to the end of September from 10am to 8pm and in the winter from October to the end of March it is open Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
